Cook-Off!

The Big Sky Readers & Writers Festival together with the Durack Institute of Technology, Zeewijk Restaurant are hosting a Pizza Cook-off, featuring award-winning pizza chef Theo Kalogeracos.

The Cook-off between local WAFM personalities, Cr Shane Van Styn, Big Sky guest author Susan Duncan and Durack students will commence at 11.45am, tomorrow (Friday 14 September). Be there to witness Theo judge their gastronomic pizza creations. GDTV Productions will also be there to video the Cook-off!

The Zeewijk restaurant will be open from 11.00am to 1.30pm with a pizza lunch available at $12.00 per person or $15.00 includes beverage, of either a wine, beer or soft drink. No bookings required.

Cooking Demonstration

When it comes to making pizzas, the secret is to use quality, fresh produce which creates a taste sensation. Theo Kalogeracos is far from being a traditional pizza maker and some of his pizzas are considered a little outside the box.

Lunch & Launch

Join us for lunch as we launch Philippa Nikulinsky’s Cape Arid.

Cape Arid National Park is a fascinating and remote area on the far south-eastern coast of Western Australia. Braving howling winds, grit, sleet, 43-degree heat and thousands of flies, the Nikulinskys travel rough sandy tracks to be rewarded by shimmering seas, islands and unique flora and fauna.

Cape Arid will be available for purchase and signing at the launch 1.00 – 2.00pm

Dinner at Durack

Join Chef Theo Kalogeracos for a sumptuous meal accompanied by fine wines, tales of travel and the search for the prefect pizza.

Poetry by the Sea

Be prepared for an evening of poetry and fun. Participate in the open mic session, experience some history and be entertained by our guests.  Meal included, licensed bar available. Includes some outdoor sessions.
