The City of Greater Geraldton Libraries offer a number of online resources for our borrowers.

By following the links below you will get free access to a great range of e-books, magazines and journals, encyclopedias and more. Just click on the Online Database icon image to start your search.
Some databases will require you to enter your WA Public Library or your City of Greater Geraldton Library card number to enter the database.

      • EBSCO database

        EBSCO database

        A suite of databases, mainly full text, aimed at public, academic, medical, corporate and school libraries. Coverage ranges from general reference collections to specially designed, subject-specific databases.

      • Novelist database

        A fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, as well as author read-alikes, book discussion guides, and feature articles.

      • Popular Magazines database

        Full text magazine articles with a focus on current events, sports, science and health from thousands of popular magazines, including the Australian version of Choice Magazine.

        Provides access to medical, statistical, fitness, health, and wellness information.

      • Literacy for all ages

        Literacy for all ages

        Access to more than 10,000 interactive English literacy activities online for people of ALL ages.

      • Encyclopedia-Britanica

        The full Encyclopaedia Britannica database online. There are more than 150,000 articles, links to over 20,000 Internet sites reviewed by Britannica editors, as well as over 750 full text journals and magazines.

        Busy Things for Kids

        Over 115 fun, learning activities that help children learn important skills in the key learning areas of creative development, problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, communication, language and literacy.

        Introduce young children to the joys of reading with a collection of animated, talking picture books.

      • Trove, National Library digital archive of newspapers

        Trove, National Library digital archive of newspapers

        The National Library of Australia has been busy digitising newspapers, and a large amount is available in Trove.
        Click on ‘Digitised Newspapers and More’ to be able to conduct a keyword search or an advanced search. Trove is a free database containing a huge amount of digitised archival information in various formats.
        For the Mid West researchers the following papers are now available online:
        Geraldton Guardian 1906-1928, 1948-1950. Geraldton Guardian and Express 1929-1947, Inquirer 1840-1855 and The Inquirer and Commercial News 1855-1901.

        Download digital audio books and e-books. Sign in with your Library card number, download the Overdrive software and you can borrow up to 4 Audiobooks/e-books at a time.

      • OverdriveTitlePatrons now have access to even more audiobooks through the State Library of WA Overdrive subscription.

      Find My Past

      There are two separate databases available to seach; one with Australasian content and one with UK content.The Australasian database includes post office directories, electoral rolls, police gazettes, government gazettes, cemetery records and more. The UK content includes census and birth, marriage and death records for England and Wales.
