There will be measures in place to ensure there is only 100 people at the facility at one time including the use of ‘time of arrival’ slips and attendance records. Visits to the library are to be kept to 2 hours and both entires to the Library, Chapman Road and Marine Terrace will be opened.

Items can be returned without the need to enter the building. Please see returns box located at the Chapman road entrance.

An increased and regular cleaning schedule has been introduced and patrons will still have to maintain social distancing.

Community members are also advised there are no longer limits on borrowing. As of Monday 8 June, full borrowing privileges will be restored.

Public computers will be in use with very limited availability, including 3 public kiosks, Heritage kiosk and Microfiche kiosk, with bookings no longer than 1 hour and strictly monitored by staff.

Randolph Stow Meeting Room 1 is available for booking, with strict limits on maximum room numbers as per social distancing rules. Please conatct the Library for more information on making a booking.

The Library’s programs such as Storytime and Rhymetime will recommence in a modified format as of Thursday 18 June.

Community health and safety has always been, and remains, a top priority for the City of Greater Geraldton as the current health crisis continues to be monitored closely and the situation changes rapidly.

The community is reminded to help stop the spread and keep facilities open by complying with the required restrictions that will be in place at many City facilities.

It’s crucial that in this next step people remain patient and respect the implemented measures to ensure we can get back to normal as quick as possible.

Information will be released in a timely manner as more decisions are made about facilities and services, and there will be updates on the City’s website and social media channels.

All changes to City facilities and programming can be found here.

Current loan periods on Library items, along with items on hold, have been extended until 30 June.

Readers are also reminded that the Library has extensive online resources such as e-books and Kanopy movie streaming, and these are all available for free for Library members.
