Are there any changes in the Library's opening hours during this COVID-19 situation?

We are so pleased to share the news that the Geraldton Regional Library and Mullewa Library will re-open the doors on Monday 18 May 2020.
WA's four-phase State Government COVID-19 Roadmap means that from 18 May (Phase 2) the Geraldton Regional Library will open with the below reduced opening hours:

  • Monday 1pm – 5.30pm
  • Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm
  • Wednesday 1pm-5.30pm
  • Thursday 10am-5.30pm
  • Friday 10am-5.30pm
  • Saturday 10am- 12.30pm
  • Sunday – Closed

Is my event still running? 

Al public events including talks and workshops, children’s activities such as Storytime and Rhymetime, FOGL Book Sale, holiday activities and all outreach services, will be running again, although many in an altered format to reduce the sprea of COVID-19.

Your Account

How to become a member?

To join the library please read the Terms & Conditions and complete the Online Membership Form to sign up for a membership.

Can I become a member even if I'm not a resident of Geraldton WA?

Yes you can. The Library offers membership for visitors. Please call us on 08 9956 6659 for more info.

How do I access my online library account?

Log in here and enter your card number and PIN. Your online Library account allows you to reserve & borrow digital items, renew borrowed items and change PIN.

How do I change my personal details?

Please call us on 08 9956 6659 or visit the Library to update your details (i.e. change of address, change of email address). 

I don't know my PIN

Please call us on 08 9956 6659 to find out your PIN.

Borrowing Items

How many items can I borrow?

Resident members are allowed to borrow up to 12 items per member, including up to 4 DVD's.

Visitor members will still only be allowed to borrow 2 items per card.

How can I renew the items currently checked out in my account?

Here are your options:

  1.  Login to your Library account
  2.  Call, email or visit the Library

How long can I borrow the items for?

The loan period will be 3 weeks, as of reopening on Monday 18 May.

Items loaned that are due while the Library is closed due to Covid-19 have all been extended until the 30 June 2020.

How many times can I renew the items I borrowed?

You can renew the items twice.

Will I get a notification if the items are overdue?

Due to the extension of the loan period, items should not be overdue and therefore you will not receive notifications for the time being. 

Is there an overdue fine?

Yes. Overdue items returned will incur $5.50 bill but starting 18 May 2020 fines amnesty will still be in place until further notice, as we understand that the current situation may make it difficult to return items on time.

Please note that overdue bills incurred before 23 March 2020 will still have to be paid.

I have a book on hold - what do I do? 

All Library items with existing holds have been extended until 30 June and are now available for collection starting 18 May 2020.

Online Resources

Where can I find the apps and instructions on how to use the Library's Online Resources?

Available online resources offered by the Geraldton Regional Library can be found here. It also includes instructions on how to access the apps.

Where can I see the list of new/featured books?

The Library features books weekly in the Collection menu in the Library's website.

Who can access the e-resources?

Most apps will require you to be a member of the Geraldton Regional Public Library or Mullewa Public Library.

Where can I check if the book/item I want is available in the Library?

You can access the Library's catalogue whether you are a member or not to search for items.
