Randolph Stow Young Writers Award Entry Form 2026

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Eligibility: this competition is open to student’s years 3 – 12, studying/residing in the Midwest and Gascoyne regions (as per Department of Education guidelines).
• Entry is FREE.
• Entrants may enter both categories but are limited to ONE entry per category.
• Each entry must be a single piece of work.
• The work must be the original work of the student, written in English.
• Entries must be unpublished, nor have won a prize in any other competition.
• Entrants should not submit work that is partly or fully generated by AI. Any AI use for creative or editing purposes should be attributed, with details of how it was used.
• Entries must be submitted electronically via the Geraldton Regional Library website.
• Format:

• • Adhere to the maximum length for the category.
  • Provide a title on the work.
  • The entrant’s name and school must not be included on entrant’s work, only on the entry form.
  • Submit the entry by uploading to this entry form.
  • Quotes from published works or other material can be included but must be acknowledged and cannot form the main content of the entry.

• Entries must be received by 5pm Friday 3 July 2026. Late entries will NOT be accepted.
• No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed or misdirected entries.
• Entries will not be returned.
• Judging will be independent, and judge’s decision is final.
• Winning Entries are published in the RSYWA Booklet.
• Entries shortlisted for an award will receive an invitation to the awards presentation night.
