Funding to Support Heritage Projects – Help with Grant Applications
Submitting a good application for funding will improve your chances of success. It is important that you refer to the guidelines that are provided by the funding body. Granting bodies will also always provide contact details for you to follow-up with, should you require additional assistance.

Australia-Wide Funding Sources
The Guide to Community Grants website prepared by the Parliamentary Library provides an extensive list of funding sources. myregion.gov.au is a website that helps you find funding available under a variety of grant programs for individuals, businesses and communities. Other community funding options may be sourced on Philanthropy Australia’s PhilanthropyWiki.
The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development website lists options for cultural, arts, heritage, musical and events funding.
State Funding Sources
In Western Australia, funding options are available through the Department for Communities website, the Grants Directory website and Lotterywest.
Subscription services
In addition to the above information which is freely available, there are also a number of directories and subscription services that can be purchased to assist in your search for funding. These include GrantSearch, the Our Community grants database, the Australian Directory of Philanthropy website, and Get A Grant.
City of Greater Geraldton Community Grants
The City of Greater Geraldton allocates funds to assist community groups in making positive contributions within the Greater Geraldton Region. In addition to the Community Grants Funding program, the City also administers funds annually through the Mullewa Community Trust.
Funds can be applied for using a Community Grants Guidelines and Application form.

Lotterywest invites applications from not-for-profit organisations and local government authorities to support projects that explain and help us to understand our past. Lotterywest can support projects that interpret landscapes, heritage sites, built environments, objects, collections or installations.
