Geraldton's Railway History by an Old Engine Driver
Stan Gratte
"For many years, West Australian Government Railways WAGR, employed over 250 men at or near Geraldton and many more in the area.
By law, all carting of goods, livestock and grain, over a very big area, were carted and hence became the lifeblood of the whole area. I saw that and became part of it. I have attempted to give my reader an idea of how all that worked and names of as many people whom I remember.
I've also told you stories which show the personalities of the workers, good and bad, and I trust you may enjoy the memories as I do, thinking back." - Stan Gratte
Available for purchase from Geraldton Regional Library $25.
