Capture the Culture

Published on Friday, 12 April 2019 at 2:17:05 PM

Pia Wadjarri Remote Community School has produced a book titled ‘Capture the Culture’ that encompassed the schools’ motto “Live in Country, Learn Language, Respect Elders”.

Incorporating augmented reality [innovative technology] allows some of the images to ‘come alive’ when linked to video/audio. This enabled us to capture the Elders speaking of their culture, their country and in their Wadjarri language.

The school is proud and excited to present this book as the first of it's kind in Australia. Images showcase the beautiful country surrounding Pia Wadjarri Community and some culturally historical sites.

Copies of the "Capture the Culture" book can be purchased from the school for $40. Please contact Sonia Nelson, Manager Corporate Services, for further details.
