Exploration along the Murchison River under the leadership of Augustus Gregory in 1848 saw the discovery of good specimens of lead which lead the establishment of the Geraldine Mine.  The establishment of this mine was a primary contributor to the establishment of a port and military garrison at Champion Bay. This is the fourth book in the Mid West Heritage Series.
